Bitline System provides a set of simulation software - Bitline EDFA Calculators - to help the design of Erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA). The software provides powerful tools to analyze Erbium doped fiber with different structures and designs. It helps users optimize their design of fiber amplifiers quickly, based on their different application requirements.
The software serves especially for EDFA applications in wavelength-devision-multiplexing (WDM) systems, and provides simulation on gain spectrum, noise figure spectrum, gain flattening design, multi-stage multi-channel design, etc.
The algorism of Bitline EDFA Calculator is based on rate equations of optical pumped Erbium doped fiber. Non-homogeneous broadening and non-linear effects are not included into modelling. A typical type of Erbium doped fiber is used by default in the software. However, user can load their own cross-section data file to simulate particular types of Er doped fibers they use.
